Man Charged In Overnight Shooting In New London: PD
Police said a man has been charged in an overnight shooting in New London that left a woman injured.

NEW LONDON, CT - Police said a man has been charged in an overnight shooting in New London that left a woman injured. The incident occurred Friday at approximately 1:27 a.m., according to a release.
Police said officers received reports from a female who said she had been shot on Home Street in New London. She was located by officers and appeared to have sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound in the area of her right buttocks, police said.
Officers also located a man who was alleged to have shot the woman, police said. Both the woman and the suspect were transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for medical treatment, police said.

Police said the suspect, 44-year-old George A. Taylor, Jr. of New London, sustained a superficial laceration to his left hand. A Taurus 9mm semi-auto handgun was located and seized by officers while at the scene, police said.
Police said Taylor, who is a convicted felon, was arrested on charges of assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon among other charges, police said.
