Man Sentenced For Possessing Ammunition In Alleged Connection With New London Shooting
Court officials said a local man has been sentenced for his alleged connection to a shooting that occurred in New London.

NEW LONDON, CT - Court officials said a local man has been sentenced for his alleged connection to a shooting that occurred in New London. West Robertson, 34, of New London was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison for allegedly possessing ammunition in connection with the incident.
Court officials said the suspect became involved in an altercation with an unidentified individual in the vicinity of Maple Avenue on May 29, 2014, and shot the victim several times. Officials said the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening. Witnesses later identified Robertson as the shooter, and his girlfriend’s car was also caught fleeing the scene on video surveillance camera.

Police also recovered ammunition shell casings in the Maple Avenue area, officials said.
The suspect was arrested on June 6, 2014, and the firearm used in the shooting was later recovered. Officials said Robertson has multiple state felony convictions, with charges including robbery, kidnapping and possession of narcotics.

Officials said Robertson plead guilty on December 1, 2014 to being a felon in possession of ammunition. He has been detained since his arrest.
