Man Shot At New London Convenience Store: UPDATE

Police said an arrest is pending after a man was shot at a convenience store in New London.

NEW LONDON, CT — Police said an arrest is pending after a man was shot early Monday morning at a convenience store in New London. The incident occurred at approximately 1:37 a.m., police said.

Police said the victim was found inside the Ravi Petro Mart at 290 Broad Street and was subsequently taken to a hospital. He was later transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital by Life Star, according to a release.

Polices said a police K-9 attempted to track the suspected shooter but was unsuccessful. Detectives later processed the scene and collected evidence, police said.

According to NBC Connecticut, police said the suspected shooter walked into the store and shot the victim in the back. Police also said the victim was in critical condition at last check.
