Man Stabbed While Meeting Woman For Date: New London PD

Police said a man was stabbed in New London when he went to meet up with a woman he had met on a dating website.

NEW LONDON, CT — Police said a man was stabbed Thursday when he went to meet up with a woman he had met on a dating website. Officers were contacted around 11 p.m. after the victim walked into a Dunkin' Donuts on Broad Street, reporting that he had been stabbed, police said.

Police said the victim reported he had met a woman on a dating website and agreed to meet at a residence in the area of Cleveland Street and Broad Street. When he reached the door, he was attacked by an unknown man that was hiding on the side of the residence, according to a release.

Police said the victim reported he was stabbed three times in his leg/knee area by the unknown suspect, who demanded the victim’s wallet. The victim also reported that when he refused to give up his wallet, the suspect fled on foot, police said.

Police said the victim was subsequently taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released shortly after. The injuries sustained by the victim were superficial, police said.

The suspect was described as a skinny man in his early 20’s. He was wearing a black sweatshirt, a red/black winter hat and black pants, according to police. No further description of the suspect was provided, police said.
