MetroCast Drops Two Channels, Gains Three Others

The television provider has dropped two Rhode Island stations, WPRI and WLNE, channels 12 and 6, but has picked up three others, the article says.

MetroCast's regional marketing manager Kathy Diaz told The Day that changes in Federal Communications Commission rules made these R.I. stations more expensive and the television provider did not want to raise rates to pay for these two channels.

According to the article, MetroCast provides services to more than 37,000 customers statewide, including local towns like East Lyme, Griswold, Jewett City, Montville, New London and Waterford.
