Eight to the Bar is playing the second annual dance at at 7 p.m. on Saturday; tickets are $20, and proceeds support the . You can also visit with your favorite record from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Tuesday for Vinyl Night, when the club spins your tunes and offers drink specials.

Aside from these musical fundraisers, there are a few other ways to help out local institutions in the coming week as well. The New London Rotary Club hosts the at 6 p.m. on Friday at ; tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door, and proceeds benefit Camp Rotary and other local programs. Visit the beach from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday to check out the goods at their mile-long tag and craft sale on the boardwalk; proceeds will benefit Save Ocean Beach projects. During the same times, the offers a number of used books and other assorted goods in an annual fundraiser.

And who doesn’t love a good meal? The Greek Food Festival began today at and continues until 9 p.m., returning Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. for traditional foods and church tours. welcomes Chef Anne Haviland at 6 p.m. for a three-course meal of South American foods; the cost is $65 per person. And New London Main Street itself is putting on its regular downtown at 5:30 p.m. on May 16; get a taste of each restaurant’s offerings for $25 in advance or $30 on the day of the stroll; student and military personnel get a $5 discount on these prices.
