NEW LONDON, CT — New London officials are exploring the idea of privatizing the city's curbside trash collection, according to the New London Day. The city is also still exploring the potential benefits of putting a pay-as-you-throw trash program in place.
According to the Day, the idea was brought before the City Council by members of the City Center District, who asked the council to consider letting a private hauler handle the duties currently performed by a division of the city's Public Works Department.
