New London to Form Veterans Advisory Committee
Mayor Michael Passero said he already has seven applications.
NEW LONDON, CT – A seven-member veterans advisory committee will be formed in the coming weeks by Mayor Michael Passero, The Day reported.
The committee is hoped to help veterans transition into civilian life, The Day reported. The hope is also to help veterans and their families navigate the system of federal, state and local services when transitioning.
City Council voted unanimously Monday to approve the committee’s formation, according to The Day. Passero said he has seven applications and is already soliciting volunteers.
