The debate will take place Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Green Party candidate William Clyde and Libertarian Party Dan Reale, both candidates for U.S. Congress in Connecticut’s 2nd District, will debate in front of the stone house at 345 State St. (the corner of State and Huntington adjacent to The Garde) beginning at 6:30 Tuesday, Oct. 14, prior to the 8 p.m. debate between Joe Courtney and Lori Hopkins-Cavanagh in The Garde.
The Clyde-Reale debate will include the chance for questions from the public and will conclude at 7:30 p.m. Barbara Brockhurst, a member of the Southeast Connecticut chapter of the League of Women Voters will serve as moderator, although the debate was not organized by the League.
The Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in Eastern Connecticut’s 2nd District, Hopkins-Cavanagh, announced a pre-debate Liberty Rally in New London. It is set to precede a debate with incumbent Courtney at the Garde Arts Center in New London at 8 p.m. on Oct. 14. The rally, to be held just outside, will begin at 5 p.m. and feature notable guest speakers from across the state. No tickets are necessary, as both the rally and debate are free of charge.
