New London to Host Seven Members of Syrian Refugee Family
They were expected to arrive Tuesday.

NEW LONDON, CT- A family of seven Syrian refugees were expected to arrive Tuesday and call the city their new home, the first for New London, The Day reported.
Local volunteers have spent months working towards the family’s arrival, who are fleeing their war-torn country in search of a better life, according to The Day. The family is co-sponsored by the New London Area Refugee Settlement Team through the New Haven-based Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services.
The idea stemmed from the Greater New London Clergy Association’s call to action, as reported by The Day. Ron Ward, co-leader of the hard-working local volunteers, said he hopes to settle a refugee family in New London every few months.
