New London Man Arrested, Charged In Knife Fight: PD
Police said a New London man was arrested after allegedly attempting to stab another man.

NEW LONDON, CT — Police said a New London man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly attempting to stab another man. The incident occurred in the area of Mill Street and Cole Street at approximately 5:17 p.m., police said.
Officers immediately responded to the area and located two men and a woman, who all appeared to have sustained minor injuries, police said. They were subsequently transported to L+M Hospital for medical treatment, police said.
Officers later discovered upon further investigation that one of the men, 30-year-old Charles Cantley of New London, had been involved in an argument that turned physical with his girlfriend, police said.

Police said the other man involved allegedly attempted to stop the suspect from hitting his girlfriend, causing Cantley to pull a knife on him.
Officers were initially unable to locate the knife, however it was eventually found following an extended search of the area, police said.

All three parties were eventually released from the hospital without serious injuries, police said.
Police said Cantley was arrested and charged with assault, threatening, breach of peace and carrying a dangerous weapon.
Cantley was held on a $10,000 cash-surety bond and was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, police said.
