New London Murder Suspect Still Ironing Out Defense Details

After appearing in court Thursday, he will reappear again in September.

NEW LONDON, CT – Details regarding a New London murder case are still being sorted out by the state and the defense, The Day reported.

The case involves Shaquan Seales, 21, who was charged last month with fatally shooting Gilberto Olivencia, 29, in Dec. 2015, according to The Day. He is entitled within 60 days of his arrest to a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence for prosecution.

Seales appeared in court Thursday, wherein his defense attorney waived the time limit so the two may discuss the probable cause hearing further, according to The Day. He will appear again in court on Sept. 8.
