New London and Other Police Arrest 5 on Various Drug Charges: Police

Police and other officials served search and seizure warrants​ at various residences.

NEW LONDON, CT –Police and other officials served search and seizure warrants at Waller Street and Jefferson Avenue residences Tuesday at various times throughout the morning hours.

The warrants were served by New London Police Department Narcotics officers, New London Police Detectives, members of the Connecticut State Police - Statewide Narcotics Task Force-East, and the Connecticut State Police Emergency Services Unit.

These search warrants were the result of a month long investigation into the sales of Fentanyl laced heroin, which caused some users to overdose, according to a release. Officers located 3.2 grams of Fentanyl laced heroin, 4.5 grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Two motor vehicles and an undisclosed amount of money were also seized. One of the residences is located across the street from the Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School entrance.

Later in the morning, New London Police Department Narcotics officers, New London Police Detectives and members of the Connecticut State Police - Statewide Narcotics Task Force-East served a third search and seizure warrant on Cape Ann Court. Officers located 36 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and the residence was later condemned by the City of New London Building Department.

Rosa Grabner, 22 , Luis Gomez, 22, and Giovanni Sinopoli, 21, were arrested and charged with Possession of Narcotics charges as a result of the first two search warrants.

Dameon Shaw-Small, 22, and Kevin Shaw, 19, were charged with Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia charges s a result of the third search warrant.

Grabner, Gomez and Sinopoli were held on $100,000 bond, while Shaw was released on $25,000 non-surety bond. Shaw-Small was wanted on two outstanding warrants and was held on $25,550 in bonds.
