New London Police Investigate Apparent 'Self-Inflicted' Shooting
Police say the man was bleeding profusely when officers arrived on Thanksgiving morning.

NEW LONDON, CT — Police say they are investigating what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the hand on Thanksgiving morning.
At 8:18 a.m. police responded to a Tinker Court residence to investigate the report of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the hand, police said.
Upon arriving on scene, police found the 35-year-old male bleeding profusely from a wound to the wrist and hand, police said.

The male was transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
Members of the detective bureau arrived on scene and collected a firearm and other evidence from the residence. The incident appears to be isolated with no other victims or suspects at this time, police said.
