New London Police Issue Warning On Fireworks
Police said they responded to 132 fireworks incidents in June and warned people about the dangers of fireworks.
NEW LONDON, CT — Police in New London, as in much of the country, said that fireworks complaints have spiked in recent weeks. They warned residents about the dangers of using fireworks.
Police posted on social media: "During June, NLPD responded to 132 incidents involving illegal fireworks, made five (5) arrests, & seized a sizable amount of fireworks. Each year nationwide, on average, there are 10,000 injuries, 3 deaths & 25,000 fires due to the use of illegal fireworks. Don't be a statistic!"
