New London Postal Office Flies Flag Upside Down

NEW LONDON, CT – The flag that flies daily over a post office in New London was flown upside down Thursday, as reported by The Day.
The flag is raised at the office on Mosaic Street by a U.S. Postal Service worker around 5 a.m. on weekdays, according to The Day. After fog cleared near 11 a.m. on Thursday, however, it was discovered the flag had been raised upside down.
Employees later said it was most likely the result of a mistake, and that they will take the matter very seriously, The Day reported. An upside down is typically a sign of distress or protest in America.
