New London Rallies for Orlando Victims
Many gathered downtown to honor those slain and rally together for strength.

NEW LONDON, CT- More than 200 people gathered downtown Tuesday to honor those slain in Sunday’s Orlando massacre and show the city’s hope-filled unity, as reported by The Day.
Pastors read aloud the names of all 49 victims to those gathered, chiming a bell after each one, according to The Day. The vigil was organized by OutCT and the Greater New London Clergy Association and the Connecticut Chapter of Council on American-Islamic Relations, as well as members of the faith community.
Prayers and tears filled the area during the emotional event, wherein people and delegates from all over the state, including Groton and Stonington, were present, The Day reported. Speakers preached not just of the grief they felt, but also the hope they feel united together against the feat a devastating event can bring up.
