New London Registered Sex Offender Charged with Enticing Minor to Engage in Sexual Activity

The indictment alleges the suspect used a computer, phone and an internet messaging service to try and entice a minor.

NEW LONDON, CT – A registered sex offender has been charged with enticing a minor over the phone and internet.

A federal grand jury in Hartford returned an indictment Thursday charging Bryan White, 39, of New London with one count of enticement of a minor and one count of committing the offense while being a registered sex offender, according to a release.

The indictment alleges that White used a computer, phone and an internet messaging service to try and entice a minor to engage in sexual activity in June and July of this year. White allegedly committed the offense while he was required by law to register as a sex offender.

The suspect has been in state custody since July 5, when he was arrested on related state charges. If convicted, White faces a minimum term of 10 years to a maximum life sentence.

This matter is being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the Burlington County (N.J.) Prosecutor’s Office, the Florence (N.J.) Township Police Department, the New London Police Department and the Connecticut State Police.
