New London Reportedly Reaches Agreement With Interim Schools Superintendent

Manuel Rivera, New London superintendent for the past two and a half years, announced his retirement in July.

NEW LONDON, CT — Interim New London Schools Superintendent Stephen Tracy and the Board of Education have reached an agreement on a three-month contract, which will pay him about $15,000 per month, reports The Day.

Tracy is replacing Superintendent Manuel Rivera, who announced his retirement in July. Rivera held the post for two and half years. The new contract for Tracy can be extended for up to a year.

Prior to coming to New London, Tracy served as superintendent of schools for the state Department of Children and Families, a post he held from 2012 to 2015. He has also served as superintendent in New Milford and Derby.
