New London Residents Displaced by Fire, Quick Thinking Prevents Blaze from Spreading
Officials said the fire began on the second floor of the house in a bedroom.

NEW LONDON, CT - Fire officials said six residents were temporarily displaced from their home due to a fire but were able to prevent the blaze from spreading, the New London Day reported.
The fire began on the second floor of the family’s home Wednesday evening, according to the New London Day. The blaze was reported at 527 Ocean Avenue close to 6 p.m.
The residents had suspected a fire and shut the door to a burning bedroom before quickly evacuating the house, the New London Day reported. Fire officials said the fire did not spread from the room due to the residents’ quick thinking.
