New London Teen Charged with Hitting Cyclist with Car: Police
The cyclist allegedly landed on the hood of her car as a result of the impact.
NEW LONDON, CT - A teenager is facing charges related to a crash that seriously injured a cyclist last year, the New London Day reported.
Jasmine Marie Gienau, 19, is charged with careening into a bicyclist after taking a curve too fast, according to the New London Day. The cyclist then allegedly landed on the hood of her car as a result of the impact and did not fall off until the car decelerated.
Police said the victim needed surgery as a result of the incident, as well as months of subsequent physical therapy, the New London Day reported. The suspect is next due in court on March 10.
