New London Thanksgiving Morning Assault Victim Dies

NEW LONDON, CT - Police said Tuesday the victim of serious assault that occurred early Thanksgiving morning at the William's Park Apartments has died.

Marlon Beasley, 40, the assault victim from 127 Hempstead Street, passed away on Monday evening at Yale New Haven Hospital. Police said the charge(s) against the arrested suspect, Edgar Sanchez-Valencia, 44, (AKA "Panama") of 127 Hempstead Street will be modified accordingly by the court.

Police said Thursday officers responded to William's Park Apartments for the report of an assault at 3:34 a.m. that took place in an upper floor hallway. Police found the victim unconscious on the floor who was suffering from serious facial and head injuries.

The victim was transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for treatment and evaluation. His status was unknown at the time.
