New London To Celebrate Latin American Heritage With Caribbean Night

Second annual waterfront festival takes place on Saturday

An event celebrating the Latin American culture of New London will return to New London on Saturday for its second year.

will run from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at . The festival includes food, musical performers, dancing, and other attractions.

“New London has already proved to be a hotbed for Latin American culture by hosting local businesses such as and as well as centers for the arts such as and in its downtown area,” organizer Barbara Neff said in a statement. “After a fantastic turnout of over 200 attendees at the first annual Caribbean Night last year, New London is bringing back this night of community gathering, family fun, and cultural recognition.”

A local steel drum band will begin the musical entertainment at 5 p.m. The event will also include Caribbean food, stilt walkers, limbo, and professional dancers. A fireworks display will take place at 9 p.m. The Latin Heartbeat Orchestra will perform following the display until 11 p.m.
