New London's Lee Named NE-10 Conference's Field Athlete of the Year

New London’s Michael Lee, a senior on the Southern Connecticut State University men’s indoor track and field team, was named the Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Year on Thursday.

Lee was also named the Most Outstanding Men’s Field Performer of the NE-10 Championship.

Lee claimed first, broke the NE-10 Conference record and recorded a NCAA Div. II provisional mark in the men’s triple jump with a distance of 15.21 meters. At the New England Championship, Lee helped lead the Owls to a third-place finish, tying for the second-best triple jump in all of Division II this season with a NCAA DII provisional qualifying leap of 15.37m.

Lee will be participating in the 2015 D-II Men’s Track and Field Indoor Championship as the No. 3 seed in the men’s triple jump with a qualifying mark of 15.37 meters. The Championship begins on March 13.
