Niantic Man Reports Fake Robbery: New London Police

He allegedly told police the robbery may have been at gunpoint.

A Niantic resident allegedly told New London Police that he was robbed, possibly at gunpoint, while delivering pizza for a local restaurant in January.

According to New London Deputy Chief Peter Reichard, Travis Pullen, 29, told officers he was robbed on Hawthorne Drive in New London, in January.

After an investigation, officers determined that Pullen allegedly lied about the incident. He was charged with larceny in the sixth degree and falsely reporting an incident in the second degree at 1:24 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18.

The larceny charge stems from an incident reported by Pullen’s former employer. He was arrested by the Waterford Police Department on the New London warrant.

Pullen was released on a $10,000 court-set bond.
