Opening Dates Set for Farmers' Markets in New London and Groton

The Field of Green Farmers’ Market has set 2016 season opening dates for its two New London locations, as well as its new Groton location.

According to their Facebook page, New London will open its Friday market at Williams Park from 3 to 6 p.m. on July 1. Their Wednesday market will meanwhile open July 6, similarly held from 3 to 6 p.m. at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital.

For the new Groton, market at Washington Park, a kickoff event will take place on July 5 at 3 p.m. The event includes a ribbon-cutting, while the market itself will have cooking demonstrations and live music every Tuesday through October.

The market will feature a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as other delicious locally grown and made items such as cookies and cheeses. For more information, check the New London or Groton markets’ Facebook pages.
