Over $20,000 Awarded To New London Police For DUI Enforcement
New London police have been awarded over $20,000 through the DOT's "2018 Comprehensive Driving Under the Influence Enforcement Program."

NEW LONDON, CT - The City of New London announced Wednesday that municipal police departments have been awarded $22,100 from the Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety “2018 Comprehensive Driving Under the Influence Enforcement Program.”
The grant will allow the New London Police Department additional resources for extra police on DUI and traffic enforcement patrols on various holidays from November 2017 through September 2018, according to a release.
It will also allow the police department to continue with their ongoing focused progressive efforts to reduce accidents and serious injury accidents in the city.

This grant was obtained through the efforts of Police Chief Peter Reichard, Community Service Officer Ryan Soccio and City Grant Coordinator Elizabeth Nocera.
