Physique Wonder Woman NPC Competitor Nikki Lee Making a difference By Christopher Annino

Women’s NPC Physique competitor Nikki Lee is taking the women’s physique world by storm. But she didn’t always look like the way she does now it took a lot of hard work and effort. "Growing up I was always a  thick kid and found no matter what I did I wasn't’ able to achieve what society thought of as the perfect body. My motivation came from within.” As she got older she got a little more self-confidence and became the first girl to wrestle on her high school team.  Nikki was driven to be like her idol Wonder Woman “Wonder woman has been an icon since I have been a young child. She is very empowered very strong but also very beautiful with a tremendous deal of inner strength. She is an icon for strength.”  Nikki attributes a lot of her early knowledge and interest of fitness to her amateur high school wrestling career. After high school she got her Bachelor’s degree in nutrition science and became a certified personal trainer.

“After my 2nd child I gained a great deal of weight and found it difficult to lose the weight through modern commercialized dieting and exercise machines. So I went back to basics, which is muscle and strength training. After achieving an above average physique I wasn't satisfied and felt like I could go to the next level” said Nikki. After doing some sports modeling on the side. Both photographers and fellow sports models insisted for her to compete in the NPC in the category of women’s physique.

NPC women’s physique is judged on muscle symmetry and stage presence which is basically what body building is but the physique is softer. This year Nikki placed 2nd in the Rhode Island and 1st New York.

To get to that level Nikki had to alter her life style by eating percent clean which means she only eats food in the most natural form “contest prepping gets stricter towards the end. I alter my personal nutrition according to my body needs.  I eat twice as much as the average American which is about 4000 calories a day.  I compare it to being a car, what I put into it makes my car run better. I want to be looked at as ford mustang a muscle car not as a Toyota. I don’t train when my body tells me its tired” said Nikki.

Recently she has created her own company called EMPOWERED https://www.facebook.com/pages/Empowered/570630176337108 it Empowers the inner athlete, whether you have just started your fitness journey or preparing to step out on stage, team empowered can coach you all the way.  EMPOWERED provides training, nutrition contest prep and coaching men and women.  She also designs competitive show wear for male and female fitness athletes to bring out their inner flair and personality.   “Our main goal is to reach the community we are going to be establishing a nonprofit where all of our team members will be reaching out in the community to help the public live healthy life styles” says Nikki.
