Police Cite 2 New London Businesses for Sale of Alcohol to a Minor
New London police cited two businesses for sale of alcohol to a minor during recent alcohol compliance age checks.

NEW LONDON, CT - New London police, along with the New London Community and Campus Coalition and the Southeastern Regional Action Council, recently conducted alcohol compliance age checks on eleven locations that sell alcohol in New London.
Police said of the eleven establishments checked, two were cited for sale of alcohol to a minor.
The Wine Merchant on Broad Street and the Globe Spirit Shop on Green Street both were cited for sale of alcohol to a minor. Both clerks involved will appear in court on February 2.

Further, both establishments will be referred to the State of Connecticut Liquor Control for further proceedings.
Police said the following establishments were in compliance, both verifying the minor's age appropriately and refusing sale:

- Honey Bee Farms on Broad Street
- Thames River Greenery on State Street
- Eric's Liquor Store on Broad Street
- Yellow Front Package Store on Colman Street
- Hartling's Package Store on Montauk Avenue
- Ocean Discount Wine and Spirits on Montauk Avenue
- The Packy on Bank Street
- Universal Store on Williams Street
