Popular New London Teacher Sees Outpouring of Support After Being Hospitalized with Heart Condition

NEW LONDON, CT - A popular New London middle school teacher has been hospitalized with a serious heart condition, The Day reported.

Ernie Andrews is a first-year English teacher at the STEM Magnet Middle School who has made a quick impression on his students, according to The Day. As of Wednesday, he has remained hospitalized and on life support following a cardiogenic shock.

Friends of Andrews have said that he is lucky to be alive and is still fighting for his life, The Day reported. Since his incident, however, Andrews has had an outpouring of support from students and faculty at the middle school and also from the community.
