is entitling its latest events roundup the “Song and Dance Edition,” and with good reason. All around downtown in the coming week, you’ll have a chance to check out a number of performances. Before we get to that, though, a heads-up about tonight’s featured event: will continue its Summer Flickers series with Blade Runner, starting at 8 p.m.
The first chance to check out the tunes comes at 6 p.m. on Thursday, when Steve Roslonek of PBS Kids’ SteveSongs joins Steve Elci and Friends at Hygienic Art Park for an evening of children’s music. Shoppers at the Field of Greens Farmers Market, running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday at , can enjoy a dance performance by The NADINE Project. Island rhythms, food, fireworks, and more come to from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday for the second annual . Presentations by the will accompany a 1 p.m. symbolic ribbon cutting on Sunday celebrating the return of a theatre office to New London. Stick around to catch a performance by the Portland Cello Project in the park at 6 p.m. that evening.
Several businesses are holding specials in the coming week as well. Through Sunday, shops participating in the “Open House” drive will donate a portion of sales to the New London Education Fund of the . welcomes artisans Michelle Behr and Anna Sidorow for a dual trunk show of prints and steampunk inspired pieces from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. hosts two special “blue moon” dinners the same evening at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.; reservations are required. And for $40, you can visit the at 6 p.m. on Tuesday for an herbal tincture class.

Though the art scene is a little more laid back, there’s still an exhibit opening. The Kitchen Gallery at 140C Green Street brings in the work of Rick Lacey in a show entitled “Through Thick and Thin.” An opening reception starts at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
