Train 139 heading to New York Penn Station was delayed five hours from its planned arrival.

NEW LONDON, CT – A fallen tree and transformer fire caused trouble for an Amtrak train on Monday, The Day reported.

Train 139 heading to New York Penn Station was delayed five hours from its planned arrival, The Day reported. Travelers on the train adopted a hashtag #train139 that they used to document their travels on social media.

An overhead power system issue throughout Rhode Island and a transformer fire somewhere along the tracks caused significant delays, according to The Day. A 125-foot tree soon fell over the tracks east of New London Union Station.
