Successful Season Allows Ocean Beach Park to Return Money to New London
Officials cite good weather, a wealth of volunteer support and more as reasons for this year's success.

NEW LONDON, CT - Ocean Beach Park officials expect to turn back more than $261,000 to the city this year after a successful season, The Day reported.
Officials cite good weather, a successful public-private partnership and a wealth of volunteer support as the main reasons for a successful year, according to The Day. Ocean Beach Park is owned by the city.
The increase in revenue follows several less successful years, with the city contributing $127,000 in 2015, The Day reported. The city initially budgeted $100,500 for the park, then cut that number in half after receiving optimistic projections.
