Suspended New London Cop Arrested For 3rd Time

A New London cop on leave from the department was arrested again in an ongoing domestic violence case, according to a report.

NEW LONDON, CT — A New London police officer already on leave from the department has been arrested for a third time, according to WTNH News-8. Julio Gil-Martinez, 29, is accused of violating a protective order.

He was charged with first-degree stalking and violation of a protective order after he called the victim and showed up at the victim's workplace.

Gil-Martinez was first arrested in November and again in January. He is currently on administrative leave from the police department.

In November, he was charged with first-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree strangulation, second-degree threatening, third-degree assault, and interfering with an emergency call.

He is accused of violating a protective order in the January incident and was charged with disorderly conduct, violation of a protective order, first-degree unlawful restraint, and second-degree criminal mischief.
