Three CT Locations Among Top Places to Celebrate Fall in New England, According to Travel Site

Connecticut is also the most represented state on the list.

Three communities in Connecticut recently made a list of the top “10 Places to Celebrate Fall in New England.”

New England has long been a prime example of the season at its best; a time when leaves begin to change into an artist’s palette of autumnal colors, apple cider can be found at every local store and fall fairs and festivals begin to start up.

As compiled by travel website Oyster.com, the list looks at the merits of 10 locations across the region that are prime places to celebrate autumn. It also offers a suggestion of where to stay so you can start planning your trip within the next few months.

Connecticut is the most represented state on the list, with Massachusetts and Rhode Island being the only other states in New England to place more than one location.

New London placed the highest in Connecticut at no. 3. Cited for its rich history and stunning waterfront views, the annual Fall Food Stroll is noted as a highlight of the fall events offered by the city.

Uncasville places not far behind New London at no. 5, where the Mohegan Sun casino is said to be the main attraction. The article advises those hoping to travel down (or up) this fall to note the casino’s 20th anniversary celebration the weekend of Oct. 14, featuring a performance by Fergie.

Westport appears towards the end of the list at no.9. Readers are advised not to miss the annual New England Chowdafest on Oct. 2 or a visit to Sherwood Island State Park anytime throughout the season.

Two Massachusetts locations, Nantucket and Berkshires, placed above New London for the top two spots on the list respectively. New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine also earned one spot on the list each.
