A woman is set to defend the landscaping of her New London home at an upcoming blight hearing

NEW LONDON, CT - A woman is set to defend the landscaping of her New London home at an upcoming blight hearing, the New London Day reported. Her actions come as the result of receiving a violation from a blight officer in July.

Maggie Redfern has been ordered to trim down all plant overgrowth at her property to a maximum of 10 inches, according to the New London Day. She currently resides on Montauk Avenue. Redfern is arguing her yard's overgrowth is part of a planned project to create an ecological landscape rather than a blight, the New London Day reported. She will maker her case at a hearing currently scheduled for August 29.
