New Milford Budget Proposes Tax Hike
Revenue projections in the proposal are down about $635,000 from the current budget

NEW MILFORD, CT — Mayor Pete Bass is proposing a $103.4 million budget for fiscal 2019-20, which represents nearly a $1.4 million jump over the current budget, the News-Times is reporting.
The school portion of the plan is driving the increase, even after Bass shaved nearly $249,000 from the $64.6 million budget adopted by the school board last month.
Revenue projections in the proposal are down about $635,000 from the current budget, which includes a 10 percent projected decrease in state funding.

The proposed budget comes with a tax hike of about 2 percent, going from 28.17 to 28.76 per $100,000 of assessed value.
