• New Milford Wendy's Among Locations Operated By Bankrupt Franchisee (patch.com) — New Milford residents who frequent the Wendy's on Danbury Road may be relieved to learn the restaurant is expected to stay open even as its franchisee, Meritage Hospitality Group, undergoes Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The company, which runs 29 Wendy's locations in Connecticut including New Milford, says it will keep paying its roughly 9,000 employees and continue normal operations while it restructures its finances.
   

• Weapon offender registry violation led to drug charges for Danbury man, police say (newstimes.com) — Police say a man who split his time between New Milford's Aspetuck Village and Danbury is accused of dealing cocaine and violating the Deadly Weapon Offender Registry. Investigators traced alleged drug activity between both towns, seized narcotics from his New Milford home, and scheduled a Danbury court appearance for October 14.
