Alex Jones Likely to Face Waterbury Jury in Sandy Hook Case

The Superior Court judge in Bridgeport has recommended the case by moved, after Sept. 1.

NEWTOWN, CT — A Bridgeport Superior Court judge informed lawyers that InfoWars host Alex Jones, who is being sued for calling the Sandy Hook shooting a hoax, will likely face a Waterbury jury, the News Times is reporting.

Judge Barbara Bellis told the lawyers for Jones and the parents of the Sandy Hook victims that she has recommended the case be moved to the complex litigation docket in Waterbury Superior Court where she will be sitting, beginning Sept. 1.

On Wednesday, the judge ruled that Jones must submit to a sworn deposition in advance of the trial. The lawyer for the Sandy Hook families has informed the court that the deposition will likely be at the end of March.

Earlier this month, Jones and his co-defendants were ordered to surrender internal financial, business and marketing documents related to InfoWars as part of the same case and, earlier this week, the Connecticut Supreme Court denied Jones' appeal of that decision.

The plaintiffs in the case, Lafferty v. Jones et. al., allege, that Jones knowingly advanced false and malicious narratives in order to make money at the expense of the Sandy Hook families' grief, safety and security.
