Athletes of Christ 5K Run Through The Park Draws Enthusiastic Crowd

Avid runners, casual walkers and even little kids came together for a 5K "Run Through the Park" at Tarrywile Park June 10 to support Athletes of Christ LLC (AOC), a Danbury organization dedicated to introducing people to Christ through the universal language of sports. The fastest male runner (Emerson Da Silva, 18:08) and the fastest female runner (Maria Lucia, 20:20) -- a married couple -- were awarded trophies and other goodies by AOC Director Ronny DaSilva. Proceeds from the 5K go toward supporting AOC's year-round programs such as soccer camps for kids, Kingdom Runners and drop in Basketball for men. The sun was out, to mood was light and Tarrywile Park was filled with the spirit of community members gathering together for a good cause.
