Mr. Linial reached out to ETH with a desire to bring his show to Newtown. He admires the town’s resilience and has always wanted to do something positive for the community. After speaking with ETH manager Sheila Torres, he agreed to use his high-powered entertaining show to help the community see its beloved movie theater in a different light, while helping bring much needed restoration funds to the venue.
Linial said “Fun Music Presents brings the fun to everything we do. I’m excited to bring this show to the folks of Newtown and see smiles on their faces. I want them to know their friends from NYC are thinking about them. Being able to make the low ticket price a 100 percent donation to the Edmond Town Hall is a win-win. I’m looking forward to meeting as many people as I can that night.”

The Edmond Town Hall, completed in 1931 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was a gift from Newtown benefactor Mary Elizabeth Hawley. It has served as the center of the community and the heart of Newtown since its inception by providing generations of residents and neighbors with governmental services space; affordable family entertainment through its theater; sports opportunities in its gymnasium and elegant banquet space for gatherings, fundraisers, civic events or to celebrate life events.
The building generates most of its operating revenue through these services to the community and from a modest trust fund disbursement. The aging but graceful building is in need of renovation. Events such as Jessie’s Girl are greatly appreciated to help restore the iconic building.
Fun Music Presents produces over 100 shows a year at Le Poisson Rouge on Bleecker St. in the heart of the West Village in NYC. Linial’s two weekly shows Back to The Eighties Show with Jessie’s Girl and I Love The 90s with The Fresh Kids of Bel-Air play to sold out crowds every week. Linial’s shows also tour parts of the country and in 2015 he produced the I Want My 80’s Concert at The Theatre at Madison Square Garden featuring Jessie’s Girl, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, Howard Jones, Debbie Gibson, DMC, Lou Gramm of Foreigner, Tiffany, and The Harlem Gospel Choir.
The band was recently written up in the New York Times.
