DOT to Work on Two Newtown Bridges on I-84 Oct. 15-17

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced that a nighttime maintenance project will be taking place on two I-84 bridges in Newtown from October 15-17, 2014.

The bridges to be worked on are on the I-84 Hanover Road and the Boulevard overpasses.

Drivers should expect lane closures on I-84 east and westbound between Exits 9 and 10. Traffic control personnel and signage will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Wednesday through Friday.

Modifications or extensions to this work schedule may be made by the CT DOT due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Drivers are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zones.
