DUI Arrest After Speeding Stop: Newtown PD

A man was arrested after he was found to be driving erratically while intoxicated, according to police.

NEWTOWN, CT — A Monroe man was arrested for DUI after he was caught speeding on South Main Street while crossing the double yellow line, according to police.

A patrol officer stopped Eric Carmichael, 42, on March 16 after his vehicle was observed going 52 mph.

Officers determined he wad driving while intoxicated and placed him under arrest. He was charged with DUI, traveling unreasonably fast and driving without a license.
