The Garden Club of Newtown Celebrates Its 60th Anniversary With A Luncheon On Wednesday, April 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rock Ridge Country Club in Newtown
Author Marta McDowell will be the featured speaker at the 60th Anniversary Luncheon of The Garden Club of Newtown on April 1
This year The Garden Club of Newtown is marking its 60th Anniversary. In celebration of this achievement the Club will be hosting a luncheon on Wednesday, April 1 at the Rock Ridge Country Club, 214 Sugar Street (Rte. 302), Newtown, CT. The events of the day will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a Social Hour and Silent Auction. The Luncheon will be served at Noon followed by the Speaker’s Program at 1:00 p.m. The featured speaker will be Marta McDowell who will be discussing her books on “The Gardening Lives of Emily Dickenson and Beatrix Potter.” There will be a sale of Ms. McDowell’s books following her presentation where she will be available for personal book signing.
The cost of the luncheon and program is $40. A cash bar will be available. Cash or checks only will be accepted the day of the event for the Silent Auction and book sales.
