Mental Health 'First Aid' Workshops Offered in Newtown
Mental Health First Aid is a training class designed to teach people how to help others who are in a mental health crisis.

Northwestern Area Health Education (NWCTAHE), one of four regional centers of the Connecticut AHEC (Area Health Education Centers), is offering a series of mental health first aid classes for Newtown.
Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour training class designed to teach people how to help others who may be developing a mental illness or who are currently in a mental health crisis.
The courses teach participants how to look for risk factors and warning signs for mental health concerns, and strategies for helping someone cope.
