Danbury Man ID'd as Motorcyclist Killed in I-84 Crash

The accident occurred while he was approaching the Rochambeau Bridge around 7 a.m.

DANBURY, CT -- State police have identified the motorcyclist who was killed in a crash on Interstate 84 this morning as William Jasmin, 48, of 4 Rockwell Road in Danbury.

Jasmin's motorcycle veered to the right and struck the concrete bridge rail while approaching the Rochambeau Bridge around 7 a.m. Thursday, the police report says.

At the point of collision, Jasmin became separated from his 2014 Harley Davidson and struck the guardrail on top of the concrete bridge rail. Jasmin landed in the right lane and shoulder, and sustained fatal injuries.

Jasmin's Harley came to an "uncontrolled final rest" in the left lane facing northeast approximately 550 feet from the initial point of impact. The bike sustained moderate damage to the front end, right and left side, according to the report.

The highway was shut down following the crash, which remains under investigation.
