"...troopers determined that Vitti became distracted (not cellphone) while operating his vehicle and traveled into the right shoulder where he struck both Mauskapf and Mauskapf’s vehicle," said Trooper First Class Kelly Grant, police spokesman.
Vitti, 19, was charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle, failure to drive in the proper lane and distracted driving. He was released after posting a $1,500 bond.
