NEWTOWN, CT — Below is a recent list of accidents reported to the Newtown Police Department.

Jan. 20

A vehicle went off the roadway on Jeremiah Road and struck a mailbox. The vehicle sustained damage, no injuries reported at scene. Verbal warning issued for traveling too fast for conditions.

Jan 27

A vehicle crashed into a tree at the intersection of Route 25 and Blue Spruce Drive. The operator had a medical emergency and was transported to the hospital. The passenger was also transported to the hospital for injuries sustained during the crash

Jan. 29

Vehicle traveling northbound on Georges Hill Road left northbound lane, crossed southbound lane and struck a stone mailbox. Another vehicle was damaged by flying stones. Operator issued verbal warning for making a restricted turn.

Jan. 30
Vehicle turned left onto Mt. Pleasant Road, crossed into the southbound lane and stuck the front of another vehicle that was traveling straight. Operator complained of wrist pain. Operator issued infraction for failure to grant right of way.

Feb. 1

A vehicle was rear-ended during congestion on Berkshire Road. No injuries, but damage to vehicles.

Feb. 1

Three vehicles were involved in a rear-end crash. Two vehicles stopped for a school bus with its flashing lights on. A third vehicle rear-ended the middle vehicle and the middle vehicle collided with the front vehicle. No injuries reported. Operator issued infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart

Feb. 5

A vehicle was rear-ended on South Main Street. Two vehicles were towed from the scene and no injuries reported. One operator was issued an infraction for operating a motor vehicle without a license. Another operator was issued an infraction for operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

A vehicle was rear-ended on Bostsford Hill Road. Operator issued an infraction for following too close.
