Newtown Forest Association Begins Beautification Planting Project
Newtown Forest Association is planning a beautification project at its 3.74 acre Blackman Preserve. Donating seeds is welcome!

Newtown Forest Association (NFA), a non-profit, private land trust, working in concert with Newtown Parks and Recreation Department, the CH Booth Library, the Garden Club of Newtown, and "Protect our Pollinators" is planning a major beautification project at its 3.74 acre Blackman Preserve for 64 Mount Pleasant Road (Route 25) and Blackman Road.
The preserve is currently kept as an open grass field, the NFA's plan is to replace the grass with wildflowers. The flowers will promote pollinators, attract bees and ground nesting birds and insects. The beauty of this field of flowers will be a joy to see for all of us who pass by on Route 25 (Mt. Pleasant Road).

Donate wildflower seeds from your own garden, legally harvested open spaces, garden centers, online seed companies or by any other creative means. Also, in early spring and late fall, the NFA would also like donations of plant divisions. Everybody who donates has the bragging rights to say that they are part of this wonderful project.
