Newtown Man Arrested For Arson Near Shelton Firehouse: PD

Detectives arrested a second man for arson that occurred near a firehouse, according to police.

SHELTON, CT — Police made a second arrest after a pickup truck was lit on fire next to the Echo Hose Company #1 firehouse during a captain's dinner event.

Gregory Bomba, 45, of Newtown was charged with arson, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief all in the second degree along with several conspiracy charges for the incident, according to police. He was held on $250,000 bail.

Police arrested volunteer firefighter William Tortora last week for the same incident. He faces the same charges.
